Finger Lakes Partners, LLC, an independent insurance agency with offices in Geneva and Waterloo was formed in September of 2007 with the combination of Chacchia & Parrott, Inc. and Henry Shepard Smith, Inc. two well established agencies with a history dating back to 1900.
Chacchia & Parrott was formed in 1994 when the former D. Chacchia & Son Agency and Fink & Parrott-Rapalee Agency merged. Dan Chacchia’s grandfather started his agency in 1924. John Parrott’s father joined the Fink Agency upon his return from World War II. John Hovey joined the agency in 1981.
Henry-Shepard-Smith was formed in 1965, the result of a merger between The Shepard Agency and the D. Max Henry Agency. Bruce Teague started with the agency in 1973 and Edward Boudreau joined the company in 1998. Starting in 1977 and over the next several years, Henry-Shepard-Smith acquired the Edward Sabine Agency, the Thomas Sweeney & Sons Agency and the W.E. Rogers Agency.
Charlie was born in Lyons, NY, a graduate of Lyons High School. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Northeastern University where he was an Economics major. He worked in the international marketing department for Putnam Investments after graduation. He also worked as a statistical analyst for the Massachusetts Department of Labor before moving back to the Finger Lakes area in 2004. In 2004, Charlie became licensed for property and casualty insurance and a principal in the Cristaldi Bartishevich Agency. He served as President of the agency for four years before merging with Finger Lakes Partners. Charlie is a past president of the Geneva Rotary Club and is a sitting board member. Charlie, his wife Magdalena and their son Sebastian reside in Ithaca.
Ed is a native of Waterloo and a graduate of Waterloo High School. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Centenary College of Louisiana with a major in business administration and a minor in economics.
Ed maintains both the agents and brokers license for Property & Casualty and also has a Life and Health license in New York State. He provides professional services for both personal and commercial clients.
Ed currently serves as a board member for the Finger Lakes Health Foundation and Waterloo Educational Foundation. He is a past board member at Seneca Falls Country Club. He has also served on committees for the Boys and Girls Club, Seneca County Chamber of Commerce and the Waterloo School District. Ed has also volunteered his time as a coach for Waterloo youth athletics since 1989.
Ed and his wife, Jill Perry, reside in Waterloo. Jill is a product manager for Gould Pumps, ITT. They have two daughters, Emily and Jacqueline.
Daniel J. Chacchia
Dan is a Geneva native, a graduate of DeSales High School and Bowling Green State University. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Bowling Green where he was a business administration major with a concentration in Insurance. He also did post graduate study at The College of Insurance in New York City and at the School for Mutual Insurance Agents located at Oberlin College. He is a United States Air Force veteran.
Dan holds both agent and broker licenses for Property & Casualty and also has a Life license in New York State. He also holds Property & Casualty licenses in Pennsylvania and Florida. He works with both commercial and personal lines clients.
Dan is a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Geneva. He is a past president of the Geneva United Way and directed the annual fund raising campaign. He has served on several local boards including Geneva Scholarships, The Geneva Family YMCA and The Geneva Theatre Guild. He is a member of the American Legion and Geneva Lodge 2397, Order Sons of Italy in America.
He has won several Theatre Association of New York acting awards for his work with the Geneva Theatre Guild and sings with the Hobart & William Smith community chorus.
Dan and his wife, the former Paula Smolski, a teacher in the Seneca Falls School District, are the parents of three grown children and grandparents of two.
John P. Parrott, Jr.
John has been licensed as property and casualty agent and broker since 1972, and is experienced in all lines of insurance with a concentration on commercial and municipal clients. In addition, John has been the risk manager for Ontario County since 1987. John is a Certified Public Entity Risk Manager. He is also a NYS Certified Commercial General Appraiser.
John is a graduate of St. John Fisher College. He is a member of the Hydrant Hose Co. No. 1, Geneva Country Club, Sons of the American Legion, the Appraisal Institute, Public Risk Management Association, and the Greater Rochester Board of Realtors.
John is a past president of the Associated Insurors of Geneva and a past president of Geneva Youth Hockey. He currently serves of the following boards: Finger Lakes Community Development Corp., Lewis St. Development Corp., and Lake Area Development Corp. Previous board affiliations include: Geneva Storefront Inc., Salvation Army, Geneva Free Library, Geneva Day Care Center, Geneva Family YMCA, Finger Lakes Board of Realtors, and Geneva Fair Horizons Commission.
John is married to the former Yvonne Smith, and the father of six children, and 6 grandchildren.
John H. Hovey, LUTCF
Mr. Hovey began his career as a life insurance agent in 1975 with MetLife. Within 2 years he acquired a license to sell and service property and casualty insurance, Mr. Hovey continues to serve the needs of the agency through the sales and service of life, health, disability, personal auto and home, and commercial property and casualty insurance.
Mr. Hovey holds the Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow designation.
Mr. Hovey is veteran of the United States Army, and New York Army National Guard, retiring in 1996 after 22 years of service. He is veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He is a member of both the American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Hovey is a Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Geneva, director of Geneva Community Projects, past director of Geneva Youth Hockey, and a director of Lakeview Community Resources. He is an Elder in the Presbyterian Church in Geneva, NY.
He is married to the former Doreen Kotlowski, and the father of 2 grown children, and 2 grandchildren.
Keith R. Kriegelstein
Keith is a Border City native, a graduate of Waterloo High School, and attended Broome Community College where he was a business management major. Keith holds New York State insurance licenses in Property & Casual and Life/Accident & Health. He also holds a Series 6 Securities license and currently works with both commercial and personal line clients.
Keith is a member of the Business Networking Group of Rochester and is a supporter of Habitat for Humanity and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Keith is a former assistant golf professional at various country clubs across the US, including the local Seneca Falls Country Club, and most recently worked as a financial consultant with Smith Barney in the Binghamton area.Keith and his wife, the former Staci Evans, a Contract Manager for ITT Space Systems, have a two year old son and reside in Victor.
