Charlie was born in Lyons, NY, a graduate of Lyons High School. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Northeastern University where he was an Economics major. He worked in the international marketing department for Putnam Investments after graduation. He also worked as a statistical analyst for the Massachusetts Department of Labor before moving back to the Finger Lakes area in 2004. In 2004, Charlie became licensed for property and casualty insurance and a principal in the Cristaldi Bartishevich Agency. He served as President of the agency for four years before merging with Finger Lakes Partners. Charlie is a past president of the Geneva Rotary Club and is a sitting board member. Charlie, his wife Magdalena and their sons Sebastian and Dominik reside in Ithaca.
