John has been licensed as property and casualty agent and broker since 1972, and is experienced in all lines of insurance with a concentration on commercial and municipal clients. In addition, John has been the risk manager for Ontario County since 1987. John is a Certified Public Entity Risk Manager. He is also a NYS Certified Commercial General Appraiser.
John is a graduate of St. John Fisher College. He is a member of the Hydrant Hose Co. No. 1, Geneva Country Club, Sons of the American Legion, the Appraisal Institute, Public Risk Management Association, and the Greater Rochester Board of Realtors.
John is a past president of the Associated Insurors of Geneva and a past president of Geneva Youth Hockey. He currently serves of the following boards: Finger Lakes Community Development Corp., Lewis St. Development Corp., and Lake Area Development Corp. Previous board affiliations include: Geneva Storefront Inc., Salvation Army, Geneva Free Library, Geneva Day Care Center, Geneva Family YMCA, Finger Lakes Board of Realtors, and Geneva Fair Horizons Commission.
John is married to the former Yvonne Smith, and the father of six children, and 6 grandchildren.
